The Brammo Enertia ridden by Scotland’s Mark Buckley was the first place finishing production-based bike and third place overall in the historic TTXGP electric motorcycle race. Part of the 102nd year of the Isle of Man TT, the TTXGP featured electric motorcycles from around the globe in a single-lap race of the 37.73-mile street circuit.

The Brammo bikes reached top speeds exceeding 102 MPH, amongst the fastest in the field, and turned consistent average race lap speeds of over 75 MPH. Brammo rider, Mark Buckley, who was pleased with the run said, “I think the bike had a bit more in it, but we have to be happy with third overall. I was thrilled to be a part of this team. They worked hard all week, and we made some history.”

Brammo director of product development, Brian Wismann, said, “We’re really proud of our riders, Mark Buckley and Roy Richardson and the whole Brammo Best Buy team. Our engineers were able to learn so much about the performance potential of electric motorcycles and Brammo will continue to apply this knowledge to the Enertia and future Brammo production models.”

Best Buy Racing’s Paul Zindrick was elated with the result and the week and said, “There has been an incredible amount of interest in this race and the Brammo Enertia TTRs. Best Buy was proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the TTXGP event, and we were thrilled to help the Brammo get on the podium.” Best Buy will begin selling Brammo Enertia street bikes in select Best Buy stores in America beginning this summer.

It sure would be cool to see team Brammo/Best Buy at the 2010 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Go to
There is talk of a new electric class, but they need letters of commitment from the serious and viable teams.

Pikes Peak would be a great race for electric motorcycles. Such an exciting race to watch and I’m sure it would be great PR for the Electric Motorcycle Manufactures. Let me know if you find out more information on this.
