Valentino Rossi was riding a Supermoto during the first practice round of the Marco Simoncelli memorial Supermoto race in Italy. Now that Valentino Rossi has joined forces with Yamaha he needs gets all the cool Yamaha’s to fill his garage with including a Supermoto version.
The Sic Supermoto Day 2012 is in honor of the late Marco Simoncelli which was Rossi’s best friend. But it will not be all friendly as Rossi’s bitter rival Max Biaggi will also be racing at the event. We can only expect a little bit of “friendly” competition between the archrivals.
The event will offer an endurance competition with an original format: 30 All Stars team will consist of a Supermotard rider, and a rider from either MotoGP, SBK, Motocross or similar, who will alternate 58 lap race.
The list of participants includes top Italian Supermoto riders like Ivan Lazzarini, Christian Ravaglia, Massimo Beltrami and Davide Gozzini, as well as international riders such as Adrien Chareyre, Boris Chambon, Mauno Hermunen, Devon Vermeulen, Pavel Kejmar or Thierry Van Den Bosch said.
Among the other competitors are MotoGP riders Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci, Andrea Iannone and Karel Abraham, including the recently retired Max Biaggi from SBK.
The video is from a GoPro camera mounted on an unknown riders Supermoto bike when Valentino Rossi gets up close and personal. I imagine if you see Rossi beside you on any type of motorcycle you must have a moment of ah and a bit of fear all the same time.
UPDATE: Thanks to a couple readers spotting Valentino Rossi riding a TM Supermoto and not a Yamaha.
